What are Data Settings?
As you're preparing to share your Document List with other people, there are a few settings you may wish to consider that will affect the views of those who have access to the data. These can be found in Data Settings on the Document List page.
Data Settings are the default settings for the Document List and dictate the information that each user will initially see. Each person that has access to the Document List can still create their own custom views and filters, but if the column and sort get reset or someone new is invited to the app, these settings will define how the list will appear.
Below are a few of the options you are able to customize from Data Settings:
- Show or hide specific columns by clicking on the eyeball icon next to a field in the list of available data fields.
- Adjust the order of the columns by clicking on the handle to the left of each field and dragging and dropping it in the desired location.
- Set the default for how the data is sorted and even add secondary (and more) sorting options.
Please note, while changing the default order in Data Settings as an admin you may not see the same changes in the Document List to the left. This is due to your own personal column order/view preferences (saved in the browser) still being present. While in Data Settings if you toggle the sort order it will automatically reset your personal order to match if desired.
